Noah’s journey with disabilities and training Twiggy

I was

diagnosed with autism when I was 15 years old and has always wanted an assistance dog as Alfie, my springer spaniel was very independent. I didn’t know an assistance dog community existed making it difficult to progress when I decided to get Twiggy.

One of the main reasons why I wanted twiggy in the first place was to aid as a companion and to aid with sleep problems and routine. I began training Twiggy as an assistance dog at one year old and she is now task trained in light pressure therapy, meltdown response, tactile stimulation. I am still deciding on if to progress with public access skills due to the change in my confidence and lifestyle and as I’ve got Summer to work for me when I do enter non-dog friendly places.
